#Review: TROUBLE WITH THE DUKE by Grace Burrowes

  5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book! Ms. Burrowes is a master storyteller. In "The Trouble with Dukes" she weaves a story of past war horrors, PTSD and the unrelenting and thoroughly exhausting months of a London season. Hamish MacHugh suddenly finds himself the new Duke of Murdoch and he reluctantly agrees to host his two sisters to a London season. Hamish soon finds out that a London season is infinitely worse than the horrors he faced on the battlefield.

Megan Windham is facing her own demons in the form of Sir Fletcher. She foolishly thought she was in love before Sir Fletcher left to fight the French. She also penned her devotion to him in racy letters that he's kept and is now using against her. He needs a wealthy wife and Megan fits the bill, except, Megan despises Sir Fletcher. When she meets Hamish, she finds a true companion in the brutish Scot and a beautiful romances blossoms. Together they face each battle, strategizing as if they were conducting a war. Can a battle-worn soldier and a compromised young woman defeat their foe and come out the victors?

Ms. Burrowes is such a talented writer as she slowly draws the reader in and captures them until the final word is finished. This book is one of the best regency romances I've ever read. I highly recommend it to fans of regency fans.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
